Well when ever a henchman takes a step wearing the boots it creates the sound of another footstep creating the illusion that there is double the henchmen approaching. But wait there is more; with each step the boots will create a duplicate henchman shadow. So not only will it sound like there are more henchmen coming from a distance it will look like the numbers are doubled.
