WHAT’S WORTH THE TRIP


The urban jungle that is Chicago is not suspeneded between the Roosevelt and Adams/Wabash L Train stations, it’s vast and full of Fun places to go…but in this case, fun places to eat! We have tried to keep these suggested spots in a decent price range, most them range from 5$-25$  and they all tend to have a sensibilty and character that oozes “Chicago”. So pull out your U-Pass and print these out, it’s time for a trip.

Remember the TV show, "Happy Days", which the featured the   Americana diner  as AL's? Well that tv show has come to life in this Northside theme spot which features character actors/wait staff who usually   are pushy and mocking you as your order don't worry , it's a part of the act...Oh and beware of impromptu dance parties that break out with greasers and poodle-skirted gals in full swing, don't worry it's a part of the act, too

This elegant yet humble Asian eatery is best to attend on  weekday afternoons when there won't be crowds. Danyell, a marketing major at Columbia suggested  the Thia Barbeque Chicken or any of their noodle dishes.

This the place tourists go to when in Chicago, because of it's  legendary status and it's elegant arrangement in the center of Marshall Field's depart ment store. Now, your thinking right there, it must be lame right, no? The expeirence of dining here is worth it.  Its a place that's not exspensive and classy for the date with the lady.
Don't dare try and think you'll get seated right away during the busy Christmas shopping season, the wait for table then usually an hour around that time of year.

If your out at a Cubs game or enjoying some bars up north, this humorously decorated little spot  features great lattes and coffees along with American diner food. The atmosphere and patrons are youthful and hip, you can still get an affordable meal here, and feel "cool". They have Veagan dishes as well.

This "sandwich factory" boasts some great creations on simple food formula of a sandwich. Their boasted sandwich, The Dagwood which features seven meats, four cheeses, and the fixin's of your choice. Now that's a sandwich! The prices are within  reason and the seating area is quite cozy.

This is the central location in local chain of upper scale pizzerias that are known the world over for their  Deep Dish pizza, which in some advertisements they claim "the pizza that conquered the world!" This location is old home of Planet Hollywood, and they kept a part of that failed franchise here at Gino's: a graffiti covered walls. So eat some  quality pizza and write your cell phone number on the wall, and see what happens. Gino's East has sister locations all over the greater Chicagoland area including Oak Lawn, Evanston, St. Charles, and Rolling Meadows.

Not too far away from Columbia , this  very upbeat fast food joint has  eye-grabbing pink walls and an odd collection of weird newspaper clippings to entertain while you order. Expect to see some fellow Loop students from Roosevelt University here as well.

A good Japanese sushi restaurant in a sleek, industrial but comfortable
atmosphere. Different dishes starting between $ 5-10. Also a lot of
sashimi and maki...
